A collection of pavement poems by a travelling artist caught the attention of the Oakham residents last week, and we may well have more to look forward to.

Over Easter, Danny Rowland shared a collection of his own poetry on Oakham High Street for the local people to enjoy.

Danny has been travelling around the UK and Europe for ten years, writing temporary poetry in chalk on the pavements.

Danny said: "I write poetry on the pavements in such a way as it interacts with the architecture of the space I am working in.

"I passed through Oakham recently as I've spent a lot of time in The East Midlands, Rutland Water; and Oakham itself has always passed me by. It's a nice little town and I found the locals to be friendly and welcoming so I may be back again."

So, who knows, we may be lucky enough to see more of his work pop up in and around Oakham.

Danny doesn't only provide free poetry to his fans though. He also produces a collection of free podcasts which can be found here.

He added: "My book is available to buy on my website; along with a documentary, TedX Talk, and podcasts which can be enjoyed at no cost."

Danny can also be found on Facebook by visiting his facebook page, Danny Rowland - Author, Poet, Podcaster.
